Important Points

Selecting Scrum Board

Any number of Scrum boards can be configured for sprint automation.
Any other board type e.g. Kanban will not be available for selection.
Both Company managed and Team Managed projects are supported for sprint automation.

If auto sprint start is enabled, then any sprint having start time less than or equal to current time will get auto-started.
A sprint without any open work item will not be auto-started.
If a board has overlapping sprints, App is capable to start/stop all the sprints, provided Parallel Sprint option is enabled for the board (in case of Company managed board)
1. In case Parallel Sprint option is not enabled, then the latest sprint will not be auto-started.
2. Team managed board by default supports parallel sprints.

If auto sprint stop is enabled, then any sprint having end time less than or equal to current time will get auto-stopped.
App will auto-move the open work items to backlog or next sprint based on the configuration.
Work items of all types i.e. Story/tasks/sub-tasks/bugs are supported to be moved to backlog or next sprint.
It is advisable to configure the automation on the board that has up to 300 work items per sprint.
1. We have successfully tested up to 500 work items but to ensure the optimal performance of your cloud instance, it is advisable not to set up automation on a board that exceed 300 work items per sprint.

The app will automatically create new sprints, if selected.
1. The naming convention will follow an incremental pattern based on the existing sprint name. For example, if the current sprint is “Program 1”, the next sprint will be named “Program 2.
New sprint auto-created will not have any start or end time.

User must have ‘Manage Sprints’ permission on all the projects that are added in the board. Else User will get an error message before saving or updating the automation rule.
If the board is referencing two or more projects, then the ‘Manage Sprint’ Permission should be there on all the projects.
1. If any of the projects doesn't have ‘Manage Sprint’ Permission, it will still give an error.
